The Bride

Howdy.

I'm Debbi and I really don't care if you put an "e" on the end of my name or not. I came up with the "Debbi" spelling whan I was about 7 and my teacher insisted I choose a spelling for my name: "y" or "ie." So I choose neither. In any case, I've been using it since.

I am a JMU graduate in Math and English, and currently working as a graphic designer for the Virginia Tech Alumni Association. My design style tends to be casual and funky, definitely non-traditional, with flowers (where appropriate) - like our invitations. I designed this site - notice the eccentric color combination and the total lack of traditional wedding images? That's me. Or, at least, that's my design style. You should see our basement - it looks a lot like this website.

While at JMU I developed a dancing habit. Yes, it's true - I am addicted. I dance socially 3 times a week or more - Swing, Latin, Ballroom, Historic, International, Contra, and more. I end up teaching at most of the dances I go to, so there a lot of people in this town who recognize me. I have just started teaching Ballroom professionally.

Kevin's not so into the dancing. He comes with me when it's important and will even wear lace to make me happy, but he has not been bitten by the bug. That's ok. I don't feel any compulsion to spend hours creating Lego sculpures, so I guess we're even.

When I'm not dancing or working (which doesn't happen very often) I sew, read, cook, or decorate.

I have a fluffy orange cat named M.K. (Mortal KomKat) who runs the house and is very distressed by large, hairy doggies who refuse to submit to her demands.

And I love Kevin. Whole big bunches!
